Wonder why the new Mercedes are so ugly?
Wonder no more.
They hired a Chinese guy to design the new SLK...bad move there. Chinese guy = good at math, good at thinking and solving problems but not so good at designing stuff.
Just looking at the new SLK you can see the many cues of not so original styles, ugly side view mirrors on the door instead of on A pillar, LED fog light strips like the Audi. Ugly C-Class style tail lamps and not so fitting SLS front end.
They should have hired an Italian guy for designs.

While its no beauty there are ugly cars made by all nationalities . Sadly Acura design studios are now in AMERICA so all those ugly cars are by Americans for Americans.
