Who cares of the space lost there? You are not going to load GX to the roof anyway (it is long way up).

Plus, reason there is less space behind 7 seats is because 3rd row is more useful now.

2nd Gen also has considerably better interior in both Lexus and Toyota versions. I would say it is even better than big bad LC's now.

funny you two say that. i know 2 gx owners personally and both have the rear seats removed. and like someone else mentioned, 2nd gen doesn't fold up, but the floor is now "higher". it's the same thing, seats have to go away somewhere

saying the 3rd row is more useful, i don't know, it's like say it was useful for 5 yr old and now useful for 7 yr old. fit 2 adults back there and i don't care if it's 1st or 2nd gen and it's a pain either way

My buddy forum member Koz bought an '11 GX.Nice vehicle. He has the new dark red/burgundy metallic which really makes the GX look great.
He tows a camper and said he would have bought another 4Runner but no V8 was available for '11.

Those 1st gen seats are light compared to the tahoes/yukons.

People who don't need the 3rd row seating remove the seats for bigger storage-big huge
However, I got the GX b/c of the 3rd row availability.

When I had mine with 7 passengers, I removed one side to allow for more storage.
People who need the 3rd row seatings for 8 family member outings/trips to the mountains, road trips are S.O.L. You can only bring what you're wearing

Just bought a used certified 2011 GX 460. Comments about its less than attractive appearance are in eye of the beholder. The GX's understated exterior appealed to me....nice, but low-keyed, no "look at me" styling. Inside, not too big or too small.....an elegant interior with logical, reasonably intuitive controls. Nice ride, reasonable mpg for the size.

I like the plainness of the GX---it's not pretentious like the euro SUVs. It's a plain, tough as nails, and reliable as can be

Since you dug up an old thread here, If you want a newer review than this one, I myself did one earlier this year......before my knee-surgery.
