A big problem with vehicles that are VERY VERY quiet inside is that even minor rattles end up sounding like a hammers banging on your ear canals. It's an unfortunate side effect, as engine, vehicle, and road noise usually end up covering up the inevitable rattle. No car is rattle proof, and over time, rattles develop in every car (unless you drive like a grandpa and barely use the car).
So:
1) I don't really consider rattles to be a major defect, especially if they are fixed for free
2) A recall is good, it's a free fix for something that COULD be a potential problem; not necessarily something that IS one. Sure beats having your car explode later down the line and not having had any recall. . .
3) Brake squeel is common for any car. . . most brake pads are sourced by the same companies for many manufacturers. Toyota Motor Company usually does not manufacture it's own brake pads. More importantly, having brake noise on a new car means that you did not bed or set the pads properly (this is WHY there is such a thing as break in for a new car). This was likely caused by fast application of the brakes while new, causing glazing.

I sat in the Hyundai Genesis and the Equus at the autoshow and the interior buttons kind of felt like they would break after a while. The leather also wasn't as nice as other manufacturers, but its great that you are having good luck with your Hyundai. I'm just not sure if I'd go for one.

My dad's 55k mile Veracruz has been falling apart recently. Window moldings peeling off, rood rack finish peeling, door latch crunching, front a-arms popping when turning, and now something with the driveline is shuttering and shaking the car at cruising speed. Hyundai has been promising to send out a factory specialist to meet my dad at the dealer.... for 5 months now. I don't think he's going to be a repeat customer after this.
