Sorry folks, but again, despite all the claims by each on reliability and customer satisfaction... ANOTHER recall.... and why, despite the fact I LOVE the style direction, I will NEVER personally own a Jag:

2010 Jaguar XK and XF Recalled For Power Steering Fluid Leak
Published Mar 18, 2011
Just the Facts:
•Jaguar is recalling 6,085 2010 XF and XK vehicles because a power-steering fluid leak could result in a loss of power assist steering and pose a fire hazard, according to NHTSA.
•Jaguar dealers will replace the power-steering fluid pipes.
•The recall is expected to begin on April 11.
WASHINGTON — Jaguar is recalling 6,085 2010 XF and XK vehicles because a power-steering fluid leak could result in a loss of power steering and pose a fire hazard, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The power-steering assist pipes have been supplied with zinc-nickel plating that does not meet fully the corrosion protection requirements of Jaguar's engineering specification," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "After an extended period of time in service, corrosion of the pipes will occur that may lead to pin-holing of the pipe. Pin-holing of (these) pipes could allow pressurized power-steering fluid to leak into the under-hood and engine bay area.
"A loss of power-steering fluid will result in a loss of power assist steering. Also, that fluid may ignite it if comes into contact with an ignition source or a surface at sufficiently high enough temperature, causing a vehicle fire."
In other documentation filed with the federal government, Jaguar said there have been no reports of accidents, vehicle fires or injuries related to this defect.
Jaguar dealers will replace the power-steering fluid pipes with parts manufactured to the required corrosion protection specification. The recall is expected to begin on April 11. Owners can contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

True... but Jaguar is perpetual right now, and some of our CL members can attest to constant dwelling in service shops

I gotta agree with GSteg here... ONE recall really doesn't mean squat nor does it constitute a "problem" or "unreliability" whatsoever.

Oh no! I'll never buy a Honda again! Well... I probably won't... but not for this reason lol

Yes, I've seen the CR reliability charts on Jags, it's not pretty.
But recalls are something different. And the usual hearsay has all been heard before.
CL members own a variety of different brands of cars, a good thing (because they are a valuable resource to all).
Maybe a Jag owner can chime in with some real feedback based on actual ownership experience(s).

Took the XF (only, not other models) for reliability and averages of competition (MY08-10), True Delta:
Again, I'm not seeing the CR and JD data matching TD's ACTUAL service trip data... so maybe Jag owners accept problems based on personal reliability numbers and my point is I'm not solely basing on recalls
