I would assume what my grandpa was driving at the time, a bmw sedan and a porche 914. Mainly because i was never really an american muscle type and the mercedes of the day were just a bit to plain for me
you'd actually be driving a VW but still deciding what mercedes to get.

Maybe I should go back to my 1980 Trans Am I drove in high school??? That was in 1983, so I guess it doesn't count.... I don't know... I can't decide...

Ohhhhhh the 914 was such a sexy looking car in a 'so ugly its strangely sexy' kinda way
I wasn't around back then, but I would probably drive what the gparents drove... a MB 450SEL. My grandfather has said this was one of the best cars he has driven to this day. If only they would have kept it...
Actually, we were driving our 1966 Toyota Corona (bought new) and our 1960 Alfa Romeo Guilietta Sprint.
The cars my folks had during the mid 70's: '69 Corona that lasted till ~'84 when it was stolen and stripped down. Then there was this '63 Ford Fairlane.
I stand corrected, if i had the means i would definitely be driving a ferrari 275 gts, lamborghini muira, or an alfa romeo. The italians made beautiful car in the 70's
