I don't think we'll see numbers like that here in the States, maybe in Europe?
What should we expect in the US? 70mpg? 80mpg? Or much much less?

^This would be the Japanese test cycle, which is even more optimistic than the European.
Also, the performance of the hybrid power train is mainly defined by the software - it could easily achieve much better mpg numbers, but the performance will suffer.
However, having lighter curb weight and the same 0-60 as the standard Prius, 10% better mpg is easily achievable.

Keep in mind that this is a gas/plug-in car, it consume electric useage. You need to put your electrical bill into consideration. 100MPG is only the gas side, did they ever mention MPK (Mile Per Kw)?
Go rent a garage, let the landlord pay the electric bill......lol

^Are you sure it's a plug in also? I thought that it was just fuel, and that the Prius plug in, was the only all electric hybrid.

Which is fine because the Vibe is nothing more than a Matrix in drag. So, it's still all in the Toyota family. Read below, as well.
That's not the production version. It's a rendering by somebody and it is their guess as to what the Prius C might look like. If you look closely, the artist took a lot of styling clues from the Prius V.

103MPG sounds good, especially for my living in the NYC. Gonna check it out on the NY auto show next week.

expect around 55 MPG at maximum... those would be really crazy numbers!
For more than that, car would have to be PHEV.

I hope it looks as close as the concept as possible.
Also, I've noticed that a lot of the Hyundai models, has some styling cue's to this concept. Toyota better deliver with this, and I really hope that it gets more than 55 mpg.
You guys don't think that 70 mpg is possible?

Phil great idea about hybrid Scions....
70 MPG is very unlikely unless they switch to a newer battery. 55 MPg is being based on the current Prius drivetrain but in a lighter car.
The Prius V in Europe does use Li Ion batteries though. Our Prius V are the usual batteries.

^But Toyota announced that the Prius C will get better MPG than the current Prius, which gets 52/48. Is it too much to expect 50/70? or 70/50?

I seriously doubt 60 MPG let alone 70 MPG. Considering this will be lower priced than the Prius I just can't see it getting a new battery or tech. They will likely use existing Prius tech.
Still 55 MPG is great, better than anything today.
