Default ALSA's Mirrachrome

After looking at the Tron Audi R8 Chrome paint job, I came across this website:

http://www.freecarkits.com/chromecargallery.htm

^Looks like you can just spray paint your car Chrome.

Here's the paint job applied to a Toyota Supra:

http://www.freecarkits.com/chrome-toyota.htm

Honestly, I think it looks sick, but not sure on how the quality is.

Thoughts?

Edit: Also, here's the website to where you can buy it:

http://www.alsacorp.com/products/mir...irra_price.htm

^$80 for 4 ounces of Chrome paint.

I wish they would have had this when I was building Lowrider bikes back in the days...I remember I had to send out all my frames to get chromed.

Looks interesting on concept cars but tacky on real cars. Not to mention blinding everyone on a sunny day.

That should lower resale value tremendously.

The obvious reason why this is not more popular would be the blinding effect on a sunny day. It would make the car not only hazardous to its own driver, but to those around it as well.

I don't know of any Federal safety law that specifically outlaws chrome paint jobs, but some things don't have to be spelled out on paper....they are just common sense.

^^ no kidding about common sense, same reason why you wouldn't want chrome wiper arms/blades, chrome hood scoops, etc.

With the chrome wiper-arms, though, they were specifically outlawed by the 1966 Motor-Vehicle-Safety Act (which, good or bad, you can primarily thank Ralph Nader for). For a while, automakers, instead, used chrome wiper arms spray-painted with a thin coat of flat-black paint that chipped or wore off rather easily (exposing bright-chrome dots), then, later-on, flat-black plastic arms that never faded or chipped. That law, I think, took effect in 1968.

Chrome hood-scoops, though, I don't know much about any laws that expressly outlaw them.....you may be able to fill us in on that.

None that I'm aware of, not that it matters.

How sure are you guys that Chrome is illegal? I thought I read somewhere that it just depends on the state and jurisdiction, but I would assume that CA would be real **** about this.

What about these candy colors?

http://alsacorp.com/products/candyco...ates/candy.htm

I'm diggin the lemon yellow, reminds me of the yellow used for the ct200h.
