Yes, people make fun but I love my VTEC especially when I take the revs up to 8000RPM. On my car the VTEC engagement/switchover is very mild though. It's not the fastest car by today's standard but still the best car I've ever owned, thus the reason why I bought another one after selling the first one.

Shouldn't make fun of VTEC, just the dumb people who don't understand it.

I had a Vtec prelude in college. It was the best car I have ever owned ( maybe tied with the LS460) .

I don't think anyone has an issue with v-tech, its the idiots that own them. Let me say this though, not everyone with a vtech is an idiot, but the ones who are act exactly like this. Then again i wonder if people with n/a 2jz's are saying the same sort of stuff haha. Very funny though

That's essentially it. A well-rounded Fuel economic powerhouse. Still the most reliable car I've owned to date, and the most fun besides the 4age powered ae86 corollas, any of these two cars you could mock me til death, I'd still buy one at 60yrs old.

This holds true for just about every make and model performance car. I think Hondas are just the most affordable, so they touch a broader spectrum of "you know, yeah that guy" owners that have caused a bad rep. over the years. We've all seen the ricer-douche bag come out in people no matter what car they are in. Video is still worth a giggle, and it's a bit extreme but oh well.

If you think about the engineering that goes into v-tech, its a lot more complex then just slapping a turbo onto a small engine, its actually pretty cool

By the way it is VTEC, NOT VTECH, or V-Tech. Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control.
