TripleL - Good question, it's probably availability of the IS250AWD (versus IS350AWD) and unfortunately I fully expect sales to track in a similar manner with the IS250AWD hugely outselling IS350AWD.

On the subject of low output engine in the IS250, I mentioned earlier that I feel that Mercedes (w/C300) and BMW (w/328) did a better job of engine selection for the competing cars being greater than 2.5 liters, both have significantly more power. I can actually feel the difference in normal driving, having driven them all.

With the all new IS350AWD out for 2011 I wonder why Lexus sent, or they asked for, an IS250AWD to test. I understand the IS250AWD received the refresh this year with the rest of the line and overall the article was a positive one for the car, but why not show off the latest and greatest new edition to the line up?
Very good question.

Not sure how anyone can call the IS bland. After 6 years it still looks fresh and crisp. I think best looking with the C-class sport.

i was recently looking at 3, C and IS, and IS in its base form looks a lot less vanilla than the other two.

I have one of these for sale in So California if anyone is interested. It's black with black/beige interior. Just too small for baby's car seat. https://post.craigslist.org/manage/2806366198/k569u

Welcome to CL. I see you are a brand-new poster. Glad to have you.

I can't directly help you much, since I'm on the East Coast (Washington, D.C. area), but, if it's in good condition, I don't think you will have too much trouble selling it. Our local car-market here, due to both relatively high incomes and a recession-resistant economy, is enormous.....probably second only to the L.A./SoCal region in the number of both new and used cars sold, and has a lot of similarites to L.A. The IS250AWD is extremely popular here...from what I've seen, more-so than its RWD counterpart. I generally don't believe in car-buying stereotypes, but I can't help noticing that, in this area at least, IS250AWDs are often driven by females. The SoCal region, of course, at low altitudes, has milder winter weather than the D.C. area, so the added snow-traction of AWD probably won't be as much of an issue there. But it would be useful to point out to any respective buyer that AWD also helps a lot in slippery mud/rain conditions, which SoCal DOES get with those heavy Pacific storms and occasional mudslides,

And.....you're right about the IS250 having a midget-sized rear-seat. It is easily one of the car's worst features.

That's how I bought my first Lexus.
An '06 IS250 AWD in '07.
My daughter's car I bought from her after she had my granddaughter.Rear seat was too small for the car seat.
I believe Britax does make a smaller car seat now that I believe some here have used here and it seems to work well with the back seat issue.
