I would take an '04 S2000 over an '02 Boxster S. I like the fact that the AP2 S2000 has a glass rear window, something the Boxster doesn't have until '03. However, I would choose a restyled '05+ Boxster S over the S2000.

The SC430 is a nice car but far from a driver's car. It doesn't really fit in with your list, but I'd choose it as a daily over your other choices.

I would have voted this, but IMO, the 986 (he listed 2002 model year) Porsche is ugly.

IMO, the 986 (1997-2004 model years) was best looking modern Porsche roadster, fairly close to the original concept car that floored the automotive community when first shown.

As I mentioned in my post, maybe if the Boxster steering feel was as good as the 911 I'd rate these two differently.
I think the 911 caused you to be biased against the boxster haha

I owned, and tracked, a s2000 for about 4 years. The steering is very responsive, however there really isn't any feedback. It's the only complaint i (and many other owners) have about the car. The shifter feels amazing though I've had some seat time with a cayman (not quite a boxster, but pretty close), and the communication/feedback you get through the steering wheel is far superior to the eps system in the s2000.

2004+ Honda S2000
2006+ Mazda Miata MX-5
2003+ BMW Z4 3.0si
2002+ Porsche Boxster S
2004+ 350Z Roadster
Drive a Boxster S & your answer will become obvious. No difference between 2000-2002 I prefer 2000 because stability control (PSM) was not available.
I am building another S engine now & looking for a Boxster with a blown engine to put mine in.

-MY04-05 s2k, cable throttle as opposed to the 06+ which came with drive-by-wire (someone mentioned glass window, but the MY00-01 s2ks were the only ones w/ the plastic windows. 02+ all had glass windows)
-nb mazdaspeed mx-5. the looks of the nc are 'meh' to me.
