We got her the new 2011 Hyundai Elantra Limited. This car is really sweet! Gets 40MPG and is LOADED with features!
Nav, backup camera, XM, Bluetooth, Push button started, Leather, Heated f & r seats,
The car looks amazing! perfect for her!

It is really amazing what this car comes with, looks like, feels like, and is priced at. It drives and accelerates like a very light compact car, but doesn't come across as one in any way. Highly recommended for a "around town" car or a first car for a child.
As far as the interior fit and finish goes, it feels everybit as nice as a new IS250/350. I actually think it looks nicer on the inside.

I checked one out, its nice but not up to any Lexus levels, not even an old Lexus. Sorry. The materials are fitting for a car priced in this class. What is nice to me was the room and the ergonomics and the nice cubby under the console with the Aux ports etc.

In no way would I say my "old" GS300/400, SC300/400 compare internally. My LS probably was the closest.
I'm not saying that it BETTER, I'm saying that it is on par with (in the case of the GS, that's not too hard to meet).

I have to disagree. The Nav unit is up to par with any pre-2011 Lexus Nav. Has more choices and looks almost identical from the Map screen. The materials around the dash actually feel "tighter" than my GS, my wifes ES, and my Ford Fusion. The buttons all feel very solid and Lexus like. The lack of automatic air is kind of strange, but understandable given all the other features it has.

well, considering there are do discounts, incentives, or rebates and this car was extremely hard for the dealership to find (they only had 2 2011 Elantras here, and 13 in the state), they were asking $23,400 but we got it for $22,700 OTD.

Congrats on the new car. A couple of months ago we bought a new daily driver and the new Elantra was one of the final three cars under consideration. I test drove one a couple of times and it is a nice small car and will do well in the segment. We went another direction with our purchase but it did get our attention.
BTW, C&D just did a comparo with the new Focus, Mazda3, Elantra and Jetta.
