It is always due to sales volume, they make what sales............no sales and they leave it out in the cold.

Well the E-class coupe is really a C-class with an E-class body. They now have the C-class. I don't think the previous CLK AMG sold well. However the BLack series got rave reviews but it was what 130k or so?

Lexus track record speaks for itself.

For a car? Not even close to any basis in reality.

500 copies for one time are not hard to sell. Lexus can't sell thousands and thousands of LFA continously like Ferrari do with the 599.
How is it not "hard to sell"???

Considering that they are not sold out and it seems a great number of cars are going to dealers, it seems like it's been extremely difficult to sell. (Due in large part to the horrible timing because of the worldwide recession)

I would love it if Lexus make a separate ultra highend brand like Maybach, because I am going to be ready for a higher level car then the LS but I don't want the reliability concerns of European brands. I want it to happen, I just don't think Toyota can pull it off for a long time.
An ultra-high end brand is the last thing Lexus needs at the moment.

Try a broader line-up with some coupes and some more performance cars and then....maybe....they can think about doing something that would sell a few units a year.

I should have phased it a little more in details. $50k is easy for luxury car buyers....that's a little better. My reality is a little off too since it feels like every other car on the road in my neighborhood is $50k+.

My point exactly, Lexus don't have the image required to sell ultra high price vehicles. That was my point of why Lexus is not planning to make a mass produced production $100k 550 hp V8 Twin Turbos GS-F. The LFA is ok since it is only a one time deal of 500 copies, that was my point of being "easy to sell" because it is a one time deal of small quantity.

Gee, look what I started with my question.

But seriously, if Lexus released a GS-F with the stats that were thrown around above, it would instantly make my "buy" list and I would seriously consider it over BMW / MB.

CLK AMG was one of my favorite Merc's ever produced.

Same here, I always prefer Asians over Europeans if the Asians offer comparable equivalent product. LS vs. S-class, ISF vs. M3......etc. I avoid Euros if I could because intermittent electrical issue is a hassle to me. But I am running out of possible upgrade from the Asians now that I am at the LS/SC level.

I wish the LFA is at the $150k-$200k level, then it would be the perfect upgrade after my SC.

so much easier to add boost and power when you have a turbo. I am sure you could safely pull 600-650 hp from the motor with nothing but simple bolt ons and some ECU tuning. Turbos and big motors equals some BIG power

Im sure just a reflash alone would put you deep into the 600's

Is still the same thing, nothing new. Chip alone will yield 50~100 hp. So 550 stock, 600~650 shipped.

The X6 M gain 55 hp with a Dinan chip, 610 hp total.....but that is with a smaller 4.4L, 63 ttv8 will make a bit more.
