I see 2009+ BMW 335i's in CA starting at around $29k, it should be a lot cheaper in TX.

I vote for the 335i too, the best all around car at the moment

or maybe a 2009+ 328i hardtop convertible...they're slightly out of your budget but not too much...

I think everyone else covered pretty much all the other options already...

hummm, I'm looking nationwide and didn't think I saw any low mileage 335i's for that price.

EDIT: found a few, thanks!

I think anything sleek, cute and family oriented is consider a feminine car, so the CC fit the descriptions.

Does it have to be a convertible?

VW CC is a great car, i considered it when buying my IS250, but skipped over it because it quickly became apparent that no VW dealers around my area wanted to give me a good deal! Hyundai Sonata 2.0T is an awesome car! That turbo really makes it move in the higher RPM's and you can't beat the price and 10yr/100k warranty. The Genesis Coupe is also a great car, but if your wife finds the Jetta too not fit her age range, than i doubt the Genesis coupe would fit lol.

I'd say check out the Hyundai Sonata 2.0T (you'll be impressed) and then the VW CC. The BMW 3 series is pretty nice too, but they aren't as happy to give out deals on those because they do sell pretty well.

Good job on deciding to get rid of your TT since its outside of warranty ! Audi repair bills are NOT fun lol

Assuming if the car is a "2009" it may have been bought in 2008 or early 2009 so your already 2+ years into the warranty on a BMW which some would not want to own out of warranty

Must have's...

around $30K
good MPG (avg is 31mpg in her TT 2.0T)
AUTO
no ragtops
reliable
semi-sporty
new OR CPO with low mileage (under 15K)
coupe or sedan
2009 or newer
No hatches (eliminates CT-H and A3)
no plastic wheel covers

Cars she's NOT interested in getting:
VW GTI (I think its a perfect car for her but she thinks its a young person's car...she's mid 40's)
Scion tC (doesn't like)
370Z/350Z (another car I think would be good for her)
VW Beetle
BMW 1 series (thinks they are ugly)
C6 (too $$ anyway)
CT-H
A3
Mini Cooper

Notes

she likes the pics of the Toyota FT-86
We've owned an IS250 & 350 so she's not interested in those.

thanks for the help!
Why not just buy a warranty on the TT? Can't go wrong with Costco.

Here:

^98 Used 335i's in your area, there is an 07 with 76k for $23k. I know that mileage and years matter to you, so just configure the search to however you prefer.

Consider the G37 coupe/convertible. It has similar curvy/egg-like cues that the Audi TT has.

It's reasonably reliable (certainly far more reliable than a 335i is likely to be). It has fine acceleration and handling for a car in its class (semi-sporty). It has a nice automatic transmission. It seems like the perfect car for her.

yep, I like the CC too, I'll try to get her to take a look at those.

she doesn't like the Sonata for some reason....but would go for a Jetta but trying to steer her away since the CC is so much nicer.

I will check it out but so far I've found ext warranties run about $3500 fo the TT which is crazy IMO.

agreed but the price is too high -- altho allegedy you can lease a base car for under $300/mo with nothing down....I have to research this more tho....seems impossible to me.
