Toyota's competitors are have high mpg cars, low prices, more standard features, more options, and nicer interiors half the time.

The redesigns of Toyota's line up better be jaw dropping.

Subcompacts can't really be sporty, I think. The price they are offered is something that greatly determines their looks. As others have mentioned, you get what you pay for. For the low $10k range, many buyers want more and have their money go further for them. This may mean great fuel economy, strong reliability and dependability, and practicality. Something has to give, and the looks of a car is one them. From what I have noticed, many more cars within the past two or so years, after the toll the economy has taken on consumers, are subcompacts and compacts on the roads. Money is tight, and people will get the bare necessities- four wheels, good gas economy, reliability. As long as it can take the driver from point A to point B, being sporty, though nice, is not really a must.

Let' see... they're both rounded, Check. Both have 4 doors, Check. Both have 4 wheels, Check. And headlights... can't forget those, check. Yeah, they look pretty much the same.
