Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid technology will be standard by 2014

I like where your head is at. The revised 2.0L from Subaru might be the perfect engine for them to pair with a hybrid drive.

Even without P-I-H technology, the new AWD 2012 Impreza will be rated at 36 Highway. With a light foot and a level-surface, one could probably get close to 40. In highway-cruise-mode, I get better-than-EPA wth my outback....but not so around town.
I agree with you, though, that I'd still like to see some hybrid Subarus. SOA has been promising diesels, for the last few years, here in the American market, but we still haven't seen any.

Subaru diesel is so expensive, that they dont offer it in half of european countries... and thats without all the stuff needed for US sales.

So, they can't offer it yet in the American market without a slushbox. Otherwise, selling a diesel variant now over there would be pointless.

Well, might as well wait and see the specs for the Prius C. The concept looks nice, hopefully the production model does too.
