Its tiring
Can we just talk about Mercedes? WTF does the LS have to do with this?
Yeah if you realized Mercedes too 100 years to make a S65...it takes time so let me give you a history lesson.
AMG was officially bought by Mercedes in the early 1990s, the first produce was what the C32 in 1993?....then the E55 in 1998... they expanded greatly in 2000s after sucking Chrysler's cash.
I love AMG, they make fantastic vehicles, it was not overnight. Making a jab at Lexus about it is childish as the F line is brand new in its infancy as AMG was 20 years ago. Who knows whats in store for Lexus F.
At least Lexus offers the LFA and F, Acura, Infiniti, Lincoln, Saab, Volvo etc don't offer an iota of a high performance sedan at any level.
Lets appreciate the S-class in an S-class thread and leave Lexus out of it for crying out loud.
LOL Sometimes the truth hurts. The fact is that Lexus has nothing even close to matching an animal like the S65. The boys at AMG produce Super sedans. Lexus produces luxury sedans. Its funny how a fact that does not shed light on Lexus is "flame bait". Some need to grow up and accept the fact that Lexus is not the peak in every category.....just the practical ones LOL. The fact of the matter is that with Mercedes' relationship with AMG they have produced monsters with unmatched power in their respective classes. Im sure the boys at Lexus and US will survive. Lexus is after the dollar and volume. Mercedes on the other hand is going after a title belt with these AMG cars (of course they want volume but these AMG cars are a symbol to the world that Mercedes will not be beaten in the monster sedan category that does not exist at Lexus). I will retract the statement as soon as Lexus produces a 600 hp sedan with a twin turbo V12. Mercedes still goes into realms where Lexus will not tread. This is why they have a bit more of that panache and reputation. Reputation for reliability is one thing but a reputation for performance with almost a 130 yr history still says a lot
Please realize that a statement praising a brand other than Lexus is not generally "flame bait"

was there a point you were trying to make? Everything I said is correct . The history lesson is not relevant and I didnt mention the LS . Its not a jab. Its fact. Lexus doesnt make super sedans like Mercedes . This is why Mercedes reputation differs from Lexus. The fact of the matter is that Lexus doesn't make vehicles to match the beasts from Mercedes Benz AMG works. There is no reason to "flame" or get Lexus defensiveespecially when its a FACT

Why don't you say "shame Acura or Infiniiti or Lincoln etc doesn't have a car to even COMPETE instead of bringing up Lexus who has beat the odds with the LS?

I know Och was just being funny, but to some, if a picture of a group of people doesn't include every race in the universe, then there's racism at play and it is a politically incorrect lineup. For proof, take a look at any company ad, modern TV show, news lineup, ect. with 3 or more people. You'll have most races covered under forced diversity.
Way off topic, sorry.
Also, about the fact that the Lexus LS lacks an AMG competitor...
Answer this, how many S-class AMG's to you see on the streets? I might see one once a year. I hardly think it's worth it for Lexus to jump into such a miniscule market simply for bragging rights. The IS-F is one thing, an LS-F is another.
