All made possible (if not too plausible) by the torque curve of a turbo 4 versus a big slow-turning V8. Sidestepping the clutch and ham-fisted shifting among Mustang owners has made the solid axle a better choice for service managers who have to make good on the warranty.

Based on the experience of the Turbo T'birds and the XR4Ti, The Mustang is a pretty large heavy package for a turbo 4 to drag around, but it could be packaged nicely in the Focus.
