maybe i am european, we have 20 similar cars in the class, to my eyes, difference is huge.
Accent is more of Fiesta copy when it comes to design.

 

Gotta love C&D's "unbiased" review. I'll bet my left nut if this was the Honda Fit they'd be raving about it.

 

I like it. Hopefully toyota keeps it at an affordable price like the current yaris.

 

Looking pretty sharp in the real-world pics. Looks better than the Accent IMHO.

 

I hope they black out the window frames at the B pillars. If not, I would just get the vinyl done myself.

in europe, it seems to have cheaper pricing than before, $1.5k less with same equipment... and $150 less with base that now has ESP and 7 airbags.

 

I hope the states get's the panoramic roof also. That'll be pretty sweet, and a first in it's class here (right?).

 

well they are pushing this new resin roof everywhere... Prius V is getting it so maybe Yaris will too.

As always, problem might be the end price, with all of this stuff available:

- half leather seats, sports leather steering wheel, gear shift and even handbrake (first i see leather instead of plastic on handbrake pull handle in Toyota).
- heated seats
- Smart entry, start/stop, auto dimming mirror, heated mirrors, auto wipers, auto headlights, all 4 windows electric, cruise control.
- Cooled glovebox
- dual automatic air
- 6.1" Toyota Entune with nav/apps 8 speakers, bluetooth, usb/ipod
- Reversing camera, reversing sensors
- Panoramic roof
- Factory privacy glass

25k Yaris? :-)

 

A $25k Yaris would be a depreciation nightmare. Few of the Yaris now sold in Europe go for more than $15k + VAT and I don't see anything in this new model changing that. Not that there's anything wrong with it but consumers have plenty of options in the price bracket and it does look very like the GM Corsa.

Yeah.

As to the 25k Yaris, that was a joke on stripped Yaris's sold in the USA. But sure, 1.4 D4D Yaris models sold in Germany do sell for up to 30k USD, all included. It is way too much money.

 

but if you look at Fiesta pricing, 22.5k for top spec fiesta with manual air and no nav, you can see how can Yaris be 25k with all of the above.

i like the base system as i don't want in car nav next time unless it's internet connected and can use phone data plan (don't want more monthly bills!)

 

Entune is exactly that - internet connected nav and apps that use phone's data plan

FYI - Yaris in Europe will have 1 option with base LCD (1 liner) and 3 options with 6.1 Display Audio / Toyota touch.

I wonder if base Camry might come with 6.1" screen by default, just like Prius v.
