What was your first car?

My 1st automotive observations as a 7 year old living in Alaska in 1967: I'm seeing an awful lot of Mustangs & VWs, & the rear widow on Barracudas is the coolest thing I ever saw!

You know you're correct. I mean it had many of those things that my old mind just assimilated with being standard LOL. Oh and it had a Rocket 350 with a Turbo-Hydromatic Auto 3Speed Transmission.

I had the exact same car (not my 1st car though), including the color. Paid close to sticker for it new since it was the only one the Lincoln/Merkur dealer had, and then took a major bath on it when I traded it in on a new Accord.

Wasn't the Eagle Talon a spin-off of the Mistubishi Eclipse? I loved my Eclipse. Fun car with the turbo engine but you had to leave it running for 25 seconds before shutting it off. In a strange way it reminded me of my '82 Datsun 280ZX.

That's a Datsun 280ZX..
We have a huge Nissan and Z enthusiast that works for us.... She probably know every fact and detail and knows how to work on them as well. She got me into them very recently, awesome first car!!

It's so nice to talk to previous Z owners!!!
I like a lot of cars, but I've always been a huge fan of the Datsun and Nissan Z cars.
I am currently daily driving a grey two tone 280zx standard transmission. I get a lot of attention driving it around town. Even got a thumbs up from a couple police officers! haha.
How long did you have your 280zx for?
My main project is my (produced in 89) 1990 Nissan 300zx (NA chassis) but i swapped my Twin Turbo engine into it, which came from my old red 1991 300zx that was rear-ended. rip.
Here's a pic of my current one:
But I have more detailed photos on my build on my actual Chariotz profile if you ever want to check it out
Here's the link: http://www.chariotz.com/prodetail/Bethany
Pretty much nothing is stock on it anymore. lol.
I took my sweet time on the build and made sure everything was right on tight on the engine before I lowered the harness and dropped her in.
Because as I'm sure you know, maintenance on the 300zx Z32 is not fun.
And if you ever get time, you should upload your car onto Chariotz too

First Car
Hi Club Lexus Forum Members,
I just graduated college last week, and plan on starting my first job in August. I have to relocate to a city in CT, where there is very limited public transportation; therefore, I need to purchase a car. Currently, I am drowning in loans; therefore, I would like pay more or less $10k. After browsing through the web, I noticed how impressive the LS 430, RX 300, and IS300 are. I am looking for either one of those cars -LS430 on the top of the list- with mileage under 100k. I will use this car for daily travels to work within the city and occasional visits back home to NYC about twice a month. For the LS 430 I am leaning towards 2003-2004, and 2003 for the RX 300. Which car would you recommend? Where would you recommend to purchase? Which one would be the most reliable? and should I worry about purchasing a Lexus that is 10-15 years old?
All the best,
Nik

Welcome to CL.
I'd stay away from the older models with the 3.0L V6 (early 2000s), because of the known sludge/gel issues with that engine if oil changes were not done frequently. If you do decide to get one, make sure that it has good records, or that the service can be documented.
