1978 Toyota Celica GT with the 20R engine
- Rusty cooling system, can't even count the numbers of leaky radiators.
- Hard to tune carburator for Alberta cold weather starts
- Under designed shocks, struts
- Burning oil through the valve seals like crazy
Was fun to drive, but got old soon and rusted like a ****.

2001 Mercedes 430CLK. Bought new and it spent most of the year I had it in the shop. Dealer also owned a Lincoln dealership and made me a deal on a Lincoln LS which was world's better. Some poor sucker got the Mercedes as a used car.

Actually another one that I have to add to the list was my uncle's 1996 Dodge Caravan. I used this to drive in Mexico City on my no-drive day, called hoy no circula under the law there, and that had thing had a host of problems in the time I drove it including a coolant leak that luckily I was able to pull over in time and also shotty transmission that ended up one day not being able to go into reverse.

1980 Volkswagen Rabbit (pick-up truck) w/ 4cyl (non-turbo) diesel engine. Even though I regularly checked it's vitals, i was always worried that it would leave me stranded and it did several times. So after 2 months, i finally got a RELIABLE truck. 1992 Toyota Pick-up w/ 22RE engine.

Most of my cars have generally been headache free. Only one i really had issues with was my 85 cressida with constant overheating, and electrical issues galore, which is to be expected at 250k+ miles.

I'm going to define unreliable by whether or not a car has actually left me stranded so that my list is shorter.
In that case, the starter on my horrible 1984 Corvette would not disengage and lit a few things on fire under the hood before I could get the battery disconnected.
In another tribute to GM, my 1987 Monte Carlo SS decided the radiator would be better served by cracking down the middle and leaving all the fluid behind.
And another GM product, my 2006 Silverado 6-banger work truck had the fuel pump go out and died in the middle of the road. That sucked.
That makes three times that I have been actually stuck waiting on a tow. It's tough to decide which one was worse, since they all had other issues as well, so I'll just give the award for most unreliable vehicle to GM as a whole.
