So most of you know that I traded in my 06 GS430 for a 09 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Limited back in Sept of 2010. Well, you also know, that i traded the Tundra in for a 2007 GS350 in Jan of this year. Well, every since the new 2011 F250 Superduty was release mid last year I've been craving one!
So finaly broke down and got it last week. It was manufactured last month and had 5 miles on it when I picked it up.
I love this thing! Here are the specs
2011 F250 FX4 Lariat Plus
6.7L Ford Produced PowerStroke V8 Desiel
400HP
800 Pound Feet of Tq
Every option but Navigation (and King Ranch Package, if you like the bright red interior).
It has the pull out step on the tailgate, which is AWESOME!
Remote start (that doesn't shut off when you unlock the doors, like the Tundra did).
I am 100% sure this truck will be with me for the next 5 years...or more.
Here's the pics.
last one is the new fleet (minus the 2010 Fusion company car I'm taking the picture from)

The Elantra is actually a really nice car (Especially for the price). We got the Limited with nav, camera, sat, Pushbutton start, BT, and every other option. It's our daughters car when she turns 16 in Sept. Great car, great price, and super nice inside (has more technology than my GS350 had).
Now, for the truck... Here is what I have personally experienced.
The ride quality is FAR better than my Tundra. For some reason, Corpus Christi streets must be competeing for nations worse. The Tundra was a very harsh ride all over town. I would say about a 4 out of 10. This new truck is probably a 6 out of 10.
The Tundra had a few more inches of rear seat room, but I always felt the rear leg room on the Tundra was a bit excessive and took too much from the bed. The think the Ford is perfect. I did like the reclining adjustable rear seats in the Tundra, however, I like the locking storage compartments under the Ford's back seats (very useful).
The tailgate step is really a great feature. My wife got me a really nice toolbox for Father's day, and the step came in very handy when we put it on the truck.
The feel of driving this thing is amazing. You can really feel the power and it really doesn't perform well. We are going to look at boats this weekend, and I am interested in seeing it's towing performance. Something around the lines of a 22-24' boat.
Thanks for the compliments!

Yes they are. Ok, so the sales guy warned me that the real MPG for the 6.2 gas engine would be about 11 city and 14 hwy (yeah, thats suppose to be better than the 2010 model!).
With the Desiel I have been getting 16-17 City and around 18-22 hwy (depending on how strong the wind it blowing and what direction).
A friend who has one recorded 26 hwy during a 110 mile trip....

It's kind of what I expected after reading all the forums and reviews. If it were as bad as a gas engine, I would have just saved the $7800 premium and purchased a 6.2l gas engine.

Holy chit *****. I still remember the day you went and checked on my uncle's house after the hurricane (ike, i think), and thanks for that again BTW.
Did you look into Dodge's 2500 Cummins? Not biased or anything, just curious if you did and why you chose what you chose.
Dont get me wrong, given the choice between the 2 a year ago, I would have taken the ford. Now after having such a good experience with my ram, I am not so sure anymore. I can tell you this, I have driven both the new (2011) F250's and the 2500 Laramie Ram, if you call the ride on the Ford 6/10, I would give the Dodge 12/10 on the same scale. Real World Fuel Economy is the same (per my friend who owns the '11 Ram I drove). Either way about it, welcome back to the truck club.
I just dont feel like a man driving anything else anymore. There will ALWAYS be one pickup in my garage if I have anything to say about it. (I may not, but thats another story LOL).
Lastly, are you sticking around?

Ford met the following criteria:
>3/4 Ton Package
>Best looking (IMHO)
>Didn't get Govt Bail out money (minor reason, but still a reason for me)
>Most comfy seats
>Sync
>Tail Gate Step
>Better looking interior (IMO)
>MPGs and new engine
I like the following about the dodge:
>Second best looking
>Interior looked "ok"
Chevy/GMC
>New Frame design
>New Engine
>HORRIBLE interior materials
Oh, and you're still very welcome regarding the Uncle, Ike, and flooding.
