Toyota Dealer Meeting Las Vegas (2012 Camry is Coming!)

Not bad at all. Looks better than the fat-*** Malibore with its underpowered lame 4 cylinder and the melted Sonata. Should do well. Can't wait to see the interior.

Another thing I find odd is the upright and more squared off shape of the d-pillar. With current roofline trends going more round and aero for the past 15 years, I'm surprised Toyota thought to go retro here.

Looks as if rear head room could be improved due that design though. Rear space is kinda tight in the current Camry.

Looks like... a Camry. "Well, what were you expecting?" someone is going to say to which I answer, "something more". Where's the emotion that the Mr. Toyoda said is supposed to be coming in the new Toyotas? Obviously not here. It better, and probably will, drive like a dream because the styling looks yesterday already. This is competing with the new Passat for the blandness trophy.

It's pretty hilarious how the people here think this car is soooo boring and is destined to fail. That's what everyone said about the 6th Gen Camry, the 5th Gen Camry, the 4th Gen Camry....well, you can see where I'm going with this. It's a tasteful redesign of a car that's hugely important for Toyota. It needs to appeal to as many buyers as possible, and just ask Ford how well their experiment with "expressive" styling went with the '96 Taurus...
Fact is, the buyer of this class of car wants an inoffensive, good looking, reliable, safe transportation and the Camry has that in spades. Literally EVERY car in this segment would kill to be in the Camry's position and they are no more exciting lookswise than any Camry. Accord? No. Mazda6? Nope? Malibore? Get out.
Unless this car is a huge unreliable POS, there is no reason why it won't continue to be a success in the market at the behest of the crowd who claims they're "enthusiasts" but hate a car for being a leader and want to force down their tastes on buyers who do not want what they want.

So many haters!! Haha.... I said it already, but I'll say it again ....
... I think it's great it's a nice evolution of the current gen, and it's more sporty with it's angular body lines.... I mean, this is a family sedan, not a sports car, so I don't know What some of you were expecting
Can't wait to see the le/se/xle versions!

2012 Camry Hybrid spied
Front is too similar to TSX for comfort. Back too similar to Legacy. Let's hope the interior can surprise somehow.

I actually think it looks pretty decent, understated, which is what a Camry should be. I like it, although I wish the air intake was smaller.
