So apparently over the past week Toyota did media previews of the new Camry, but they are currently under embargo. That means we should get official specs, info and pics very soon, along with the preview drives. Then shortly after the Camry should be in showrooms, shortly followed by Toyota's onslaught of a marketing campaign for the new Camry.
Also, notice how tight the exterior panel gaps are on the pictured Camry hybrid? Those are very tight panel gaps, definitely an improvement over the gen 6. Someone said this on another forum (something I agree with), that it looks like the new gen 7 Camry has high build quality just looking at the exterior.
The more I look at it, the more it seems the interesting front bumper on the hybrid is shaped that way definitely for aerodynamic/fuel economy reasons.
Also once the XLE and SE are officially shown, I think a lot of people will start to see the Mark X resemblance .

Realistically, how round can d-pillars keep getting, until usability drawbacks pop up? Cars like the VW CC, Benz CLS, Sonata and the 3GS all have curved d-pillars, but at what cost? All of those cars suffer from compromised rear seat space and poor visibility out of the rear.
A curved d-pillar is not a necessity for a car to look modern and sporty.

It looks much more upscale than the current car. Definitely has an ES350 presence, long and sleek. I think they did a great job.
On that Hybrid, it looks like it also has "XLE" badging.

Definitely liking it more from these pics. Looks like they took the current car, nipped, tucked, and sculpted a few areas and called it the Gen7. As a big fan of the current Camry's exterior design, I'm completely OK with such an idea and the look of the new car is growing on me. Looks like the rumors of "tighter panel gap consistency than any Lexus sedan" are true. Almost concept-car like in that regard.
That said, the rear end still looks horrible.

Glad to read the gaps are tight and right.
Don't like the '12's rear either, the chrome fog light trim and the front grille overbite from the side view.
Looking forward to seeing the interior which is said to be a major upgrade.

It looks clean and modern, but not boring, at least to me. It is better than the new Passat which is really boring. I think once we see the official pics and the sportier model it will look even better. It is the right direction for a big volume family car.

Not bad for what a Camry is to most people. Not sure abotu those taillights and the front overhang is a little much for my tastes... I am very interested to see the interior and the specs on this car...

Looks fine to me, like a Camry. Thank goodness its not ugly. Surely the SE with the drop and 18" wheels and kit will look better.

This car blends styling elements from the gen 5 & 6. That is a good thing. It will be a big seller if it can appeal to the folks who currently drive a Camry (there are over 2 million of them). The formula for the Camry is simple: retain your loyal base of existing owners.
