Default Got me a new truck

In 1997 I bought a new 1997 Vermillion Red Ranger off the lot with 18 miles on it. 3 months later broke my leg and lost the truck and my job. Never quite got over it, it was my very first new vehicle and I loved it. I was only like 18 at the time. It was a bad deal and I've wanted to get another one for a long time, but never found one I liked. Well, now I have so let the good times roll.

I am almost done stripping and cleaning my new truck. Tomorrow is the last day of cleaning. So far I have:

~ Gutted the interior, removed the dash as well.
~ Cleaned the vents and wiring inside the dash.
~ Pressure washed the carpets.
~ Removed the door panels and pressure washed the doors.
~ Degreased and painted the undercarriage and fender wells.
~ Degreased and detailed the engine bay.
~ Stripped the pinstripe off the truck.
~ Broke the seats down and washed the skins.
~ Started clay bar and waxing the body.
~ New bulbs in the whole dash instruments and speedo.

12 hours a day for two days. Still a lot to do.

Taking the dash out, see the dirt on the radio.

Pulling the carpet

Fugly stuff I removed.

Very dirty stuff

Very clean stuff

Dirty stuff

Clean stuff

Had to put the seat in to go to the store, LOL.

Did the undercarriage and fender wells.

Did the scuff plates in black, but I'm redoing them tomorrow in satin.

That is the last 24 hours of work. More stuff tomorrow. This truck will be as clean as the day it was built when I am done.

Are you going to put all the carpets and plastics back? I say put a roll cage in install some racing seats and leave it bare like that.

Fresh pics from a few minutes ago Finally got to see it without the pinstripes. Worked through the night under a light.

Will be finishing it today and have interior pics.

Looks great. Nice job.

And, if you wanted a "New" Ranger, perhaps this was the way to go, since Ford has dropped it from the American market. Its rebadged Mazda B-series cousin was dropped several years ago.

Dang, you did a helluva nice job cleaning it up

I thought it was against some man-code to keep a truck that clean
(there's got to be a youtube of that somewhere)

Sorry but have to ask why?

I can think of many cars more deserving of your talent and effort.

But regardless you are doing a great job.

There's something unique about the love a man has for his first car, especially if it was one he had to work for
