SSC Tuatara teaser video. 1331 HP Bugatti killer
As much as I will always prefer Bugatti to any other follower you gotta love the guts of the SSC guys. They are pushing more than 1300 hp from and engine with half the cylinders and turbos. Pretty amazing.

Shelby has released some official video of its new supercar, the Tuatara.
One of the most famous names in American performance cars, Shelby is a former holder of the world's fastest production car title - that was with its 1,183HP SCC Ultimate Aero TT that recorded a top speed of 257 mph. The 258mph Bugatti Veyron Super Sport topped that, but now Shelby is back for revenge
Styled by Saab's current design boss, Jason Castriota, the Tuatara will use a 1,331bhp twin-turbo 7.0-litre V8, sending power to the rear wheels through a seven-speed manual or a seven-speed robotised manual gearbox. Performance figures are yet to be released but the aim is clear - to surpass the Super Sport's 258mph top speed.
The name Tuatara actually refers to a type of reptile, native to New Zealand. It supposedly has the fastest evolving molecular structure in nature, something that the company's owner, Jarod Shelby, feels it shares with his carbon-fibre-bodied supercar.

I am assuming they will. What trips me out is the fact that these guys are going against VW and all of their engineers with what most in the industry would consider a shoe string budget relative to what VW/Bugatti spent to develop the monster. I cant believe they pulled 1300 hp from a TT V8 and its something that will do well in city traffic. Most cars with motors like that dont do to well on city streets. That was another one of the amazing things about the Veyron. It was as comfortable on main street as it was pushing 200 mph. I wonder if they can match its usability

Better looking than the Veyron? Not really a tough task. That being said, that did an awesome job on the design. I think it is abosultely gorgeous.
The drivability will remain to be scene. Then again, I don't think anyone with one will be using it for a DD. Same with people that own a Veyron.

This is looking promising (just like the predecessor aka. original model.......even though some critics said it looked like some cheaply-made kitcar).
Anyways, I hope it delivers and it also means that Bugatti would have to step it up again for the next-gen Veyron in order to compete.
