Wrecked Corvette
Two people are injured after a single-car accident this morning on Highway 40 westbound.
Saturday at around 12:45 a.m., the driver lost control of the Corvette he was driving at the St. John's Boul. exit of the highway.
The car flipped several times and hit a fence.
The driver and and passenger were seriously hurt, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
The accident closed Highway 40 westbound and the service road for a part of the morning, but the roadway should be reopening now, according to SQ sergeant Chantal Mackel.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. The driver could be charged with impaired driving.

This happened only a few kilometres from my place Man you can't even tell that it was a Corvette.
Thing is, it looks like he lost control on the highway. The car flipped over the concrete divider and landed up on the service road.

They lived through that?? 0_0. I've noticed lately, with the nicer cars that get into these crazy accidents, the drivers actually end up walking away most of the time! Those pics look like anyone inside the car would have died on impact! Those people are lucky as hell to not at least be on life support.

there are a lot with similar results, don't get me wrong I love vettes and their styling, they just do not fair too well in accidents.

^ maybe the car takes all the damage and leaves the driver unharmed
stuff like this (and experiencing/seeing it in real life) which I have a few times is one of the reasons I changed my driving habits.

Corvettes don't fare particularly well in accidents for two major reasons:
- Fiberglass bodies tend to disintegrate rather than bend on impact - either way it's a total loss, but the 'vette always looks worse in the aftermath.
- Drivers of Corvettes or any other high-performance automobile often drive far beyond their personal limits, particularly when under the influence of drugs or alcohol, resulting in a disproportionally large number of high-speed crashes that produce spectacular destruction.
