i doubt those will make production. It's probably just for the show purposes and production model's gonna get a single projector

Toyota should do the Camry similar to this, while have similar front ends, the Avalon is very handsome and the Camry is pure UGLY.

I thing looks stunning I think, I wouldnt mind trading in my LS 430 for this or an ES 350. Personally I would choose a Black on Black ES 350 over the Avalon but the Avalon does come in a close 2nd.

Suprised that the Avalon gor the tail pipe treatment like on the LS 460 and GS350. pipes intergrated in the bumper but not the ES

I'm shocked at how great the new Avalon looks. The future of Toyota is looking all the more brighter with this new start!

doesnt the ES350 get them? ES300h has them hidden as it is hybrid.

A saw a picture showing the non-hybrid ES350 with the regular twin round pipes. Not integrated into the bumper. Personally I prefer them this way but the current trend seems to be the other way.

I feel compelled to write what changed in Avalon due to development outside Japan.

1. High res display between gauges
2. High res temperature display - remember those green ones in every Toyota/Lexus just year ago?
3. Shorter transmission stick. Gotta love those tall sticks in rest of the range.
4. No empty buttons ("just in case" buttons)
5. Details, Details, Details. Look at chrome around vents, look at chrome line going around cluster. Lines around steering wheel... attention has been given to everything!
6. Leather stiched dash, doors, everything.
7. Look at those cup holders.... Often so disregarded. Now with stiched leather around them, with chrome surrounds and with indirect LED linghting inside.
8. Much greater use of indirect lighting, not just cupholders, but back seats, everywhere.
9. No smooth cheap black plastic. It is either leather grained or stiched with leather or looking like brushed metal.
10. Wood looks normal! No wood that will tear your eyes screaming I AM FAKE, I AM FAKE.
11. greatly detailed temperature controls. Go sit in LC200. Great Land Cruiser. $80k on the road. Temp control switches cost $0.00001c. Here we have metal switches with nice graphics and surrounded with piano black surround.
12. Nice little details on the seats, make them look nice and expensive. Not your normal here is the leather seats.
13. Little storage for electronics above the shifter, with stiched-leather cover... Just regular american ingenuity. You have bunch of stuff and you need to hide them, easy!
14. 3 power outlets under armrest...3!!! Because this is 2012 and 1 is not enough.
15. Doors are covered with leather, window controls are detailed with chrome, and plastic that is seen only when door is opened still is designed not to be plain old plastic.
16. Rest of the design, proportions, headlights/tailights... Still great proportions but with details that scream out to notice it, even if you dont like it. Here is big grille. Here are cool headlights... here are cool tailights.

Had to get that off my shoulder :-).

Lets compare it to nice 2009 interior, typically Toyota, even for high end product.

yes, that is very nice. BUT... this looks quite awkward and not cohesive let alone elegant. steering wheel looks GM circa 1990.

great post and details, and yes it's all about details! so where was avalon developed? for years we've heard nothing on here about how only Japan can do the attention to details... and i've no doubt they can, but maybe the bean counters there breathed down their neck too much?
