GM doesn't want you drifting in their Camaro.

Oops, I think you took what I said the wrong way (or I didn't clarify too well). Whatever threshold a stability system will allow, let that be the limit. Beyond that, if you are out of control and the stability system cannot save the day, that's when airbags comes into play. The two entities are seperate, or one comes before the other happens. GM stating the airbags are part of the preventative process in a crash is ludicrous.

A lot of old 350Zs will wear the tires quickly even without drifting.....they had defective suspensions and alignment settings. Nissan replaced a lot of tires free under warranty.

Yeah just like alot of 2006-2008 Lexus IS's, except for the warranty replacement part.

My opinion is the system likely thinks that the driver actually was involved in a roll over at that instant...incorrectly programmed or not, airbags don't deploy for "preventive" reasons. In either case, it's incorrect and needs to be fixed by the manufacturer, especially for a sports oriented car. I don't see BMW's or other brands having this issue in hard cornering.

Wow, good thing GM did not intend of this to be a sports car that people would put on the track. BK budget, shoddy interior, and an air bag that deploys with no risk of pending rollover. I guess I am accustomed to my tax dollars being wasted.
