Default Thanks for more ideas

Thanks Sulu for the step-by-step and I do need to check on the emissions regulations for CA and talk to LFS.

Good luck CaddyOwner on selling your Subaru! I picked up a for sale cling-on but haven't got away from work to detail my Lexus.

These suggestions help me with my biggest decision: if I sell, what will I drive?

Thanks again,
mrsmark8

Default What terms to accept - Questions to Ask?

Ok, residual $20K on $44Orig Value.

KBB trade-in $29-34K. Private sale a bit more.

Dealer letter to discuss deal buy or trade-in. Assume push will be to trade-in on 2011 or 2012.

Let dealer do all the talking, then go check the numbers?
Decent dealer bid for my car? (Will they bid?)
Do they check car, drive it, then talk numbers? or just numbers?

Plan in sequence: dealer bid, consider Lexus trade-in, consider trade-in other make, sell to private party (hassles), keep (least profit), or turn in

Any suggestions as to how to present to dealer much appreciated.

You don't trade in leased vehicles, you don't own it or have equity, expect to give it back and pay a lease termination fee of $500, if you release they wave it.

Your dealer letter should be buy out, hand in or extend the lease

If you want to buy the car, your buying your car at it's used car value, and interest rates are higher

leasing is like renting an apartment. Its money you'll never get back!
