My wife did exactly this years ago with her old civic....
less than a half mile from home, fell asleep and veered off road and hit a "curve in road" sign. It smashed b/w the windshield and sunroof(thankfully not the windshield itself) and proceeded to fling up in the air and stick into the ground standing up!
Couldn't do that again if she tried, i'd bet!
