These cars are very hard to get in LA.

Friend tried to replace her Camry SE with a CT---and these things are flying off the lots faster than she can press the call button.

You will see more RXs on the lots soon. The Cambridge plant is ramping up production to 140% of pre-quake levels. Therefore, I would not be surprised if the RX sets new sales records in the 4th quarter. There is a lot of pent-up demand for this vehicle.

That's good news for Lexus. I guess that's why the dealership had a LF-A, but no CT on display the last time I walked thru the showroom.

With the CT doing relatively well, Lexus should just kill the HS (period).

I've seen tons of CTs on the road. To be honest, I've thought it would be a success from the moment I saw the first commercials, so this doesn't come as a surprise to me.

Agreed, why would you judge cars by range? Makes ZERO sense. You can't compare a car that can do 400 mile range and a car that can do 380 mile range if you're trying to compare efficiency. Wanna know why? Tank size. What if the car that can do 400 mile range has a 40 gallon tank and only gets 10mpg? The 380 mile range car has a 5 gallon tank and does 76mpg. See how flawed looking at range is?

The HS doesn't need to be killed off. It needs to be more attractive. Do you really think Hyundai would be selling as many Sonatas and Elantras as they are now if they looked like they did 5 years ago? No way, no how. Sure, mechanically they've improved, better gas mileage, etc, but people buy on price and looks. If it looks ugly, no one is going to want to be seen driving it, thus the HS' problem.

The HS will be successful once they make it an attractive luxury sedan and less like a chromified Corolla. Adding the new Camry hybrid system certainly wouldn't hurt either.

Interesting because in Japan, the HS has a sibling (or extremely close relative).

The general consensus appears to be that the Toyota version looks better than its Lexus counterpart.

The Lexus HS (as it is now) is really a joke.

The A3 TDI is the CT's closest rival....and the CT absolutely crushes it in terms of sales.

It's redundant and looks like a corolla. Replace with ESh.

I was just checking Euro sales, and CTh was at fault for bringing Lexus sales up in August between 100% and 500%, despite shortages.

In Netherlands it sold 500 units in August (Dutch have some tax breaks for hybrids), which beats whole brands like Honda, Mazda, Alfa, Mitsubishi, etc, and beat some other new models like A1 or A6.
