Hot damn GM did a great job with the Camaro

When the cops around here started using camaros to catch people speeding that's when I knew the car jumped the shark. The car itself isn't special anymore, everybody has one. And if its not the SS version then it's nothing special to look at. It may be a fine performer but I think there was a lot of hype behind it, especially when it took as long as they did to bring it into production.

One complaint from my friend though. He's been a huge Camaro fan ever since he could talk. He currently has a 79 Camaro Z28 project(sitting in the weeds unfortunately). He was pretty excited for this car to come out. He went and test drove it, he doesn't fit in the car. He says he's too tall for it, and he's 6'4", now he just wants a Caddy CTS-V.
I'd be fine however, since I'm only 5'8".

The Camaro is an undeniable marketing success. The car is the most unique-looking of today's Big-3 muscle, and the movie role really got everyone talking about it.
Where it loses some appeal:
- It's too big and heavy to be a true sports car, the Mustang is better here--it even threatens M3s on tracks
- Interior is still a little cheap and gimmicky (but the Mustang's isn't much better)

I had 1993 and 1996 Camaro's so I'm a Chevy muscle car kinda guy. Those were poor quality cars but gosh darn it, I loved them. I'm really thinking about the new Camaro. I can imagine it with rear tires wide enough to move the earth. We'll see.

But very popular around here in MD/DC area, and it does sound good.
Yet I prefer all comparable Mustang versions to the Camaro's, without question. And I don't like the Mustang interior either, but I'd MUCH rather be driving or riding in a Mustang than a Camaro.

It's almost too successful since you seem them all over the place. Working on a Marine base it seems like 30% of the cars are Camaros
I like it, not enough to buy one though.
My biggest issue with it is that, in my eyes, it only looks good in black or the Bumblebee scheme.

Has anyone seen one of the bright green ones driving around? I saw one in Chicago and another back here in LA. I swear, why they even offer that color as an option...i have NO idea. Looks hideous!!!

The current Camaro is too fat and bloated for my tastes. The previous ones were low and sleek, but this one has spent too much time at McDonald's. The Mustang has a sleeker look and feel to it.
