The fact that Audi is in the top 5 immediately discredits this list in my book. Also, anything from MINI in the top 20 is laughable. Granted as someone mentioned, they differ in options and such and may be shipped with nothing but seats and wheels, but still, this list is not valid in the US market.

As the thread says, the list is from the UK.

We don't even get half of those cars, and even with the cars that we do get--we don't have the plethora of choices available to those in that market demographic.

Just because the versions of the cars we have here are terrible, doesn't mean the UK/Euro-Spec models are exactly the same in every way.

Taking the Audi A4 as an example, there are two engine options in the US:
1. The 2.0L Turbocharged engine in the sedan and wagon.
2. The 3.0L Supercharged engine in the S4 sedan.

In the UK:
There is the regular Sedan, Avant, allroad Quattro, S4 sedan and S4 Avant.

Within them there are 4 trim levels not including the S4 Sedan/Avant: Standard, SE, S-Line and Black Edition.

There are 4 petrol engine options: 1.8L, 2.0L, 3.2L, and the 3.0L we also get in the S4.
There are 3 Diesel engine options: 2.0L, 2.7L, and a 3.0L

So before statements like "this list makes no sense" are made, maybe it's worthwhile to note that the cars the US market gets...doesn't exactly represent the entire range of a specific model.

^^ if anything more engines should mean less reliable, no?

anyways, regardless of the difference in product portfolio, seeing as how all the German brands are on top says something about the list

I can't take this list seriously with those brands listed up there with Honda and Toyota as being the most reliable. These results more likely reflect some amazingly unreliable cars/brands in Europe for Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen to actually stand out as being reliable or maybe a bias that since they feel more upscale, better put together, and drive better they are more considered more reliable.

BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes are among the most unreliable makes in the US.
Agreed. List is questionable, even for overseas.
