I saw a test mule this morning on the way to work. All the manufacturers do their hot weather testing in AZ so we get to see all the new model before they come out every summer. The thing is beautiful. Even with those white circular stickers all over the body of the car you can still tell the car has some very nice lines. They are going to sell a ton of these things

Turns out it isn't a new concept, but the same FT-86 II Concept with an amazing orange'ish red color that is confirmed to be one of the production colors! (More pics in the link.)

i think what toyota should do is make the car look bigger than it is (just by optical lines, not physically bigger platform)
instead of trimming down the rear corners like that, they should extend it out a bit more

Judging by the near production ready prototypes running around lately, the car won't look much like this at all. From what I hear it'll be a mix of FR-S and the original concept. I hope it's a home run so that they can pump out more stuff like this (there IS a market for cars like this).
It's still on my list of potential next cars but the practicality of this car is going to be pretty low (as it should be from what they're trying to do). I can't afford two cars quite yet so we'll have to see what happens. With it being so small and low I don't know if it'll be great for Boston roads. Also it's missing a hatch which I know adds weight and complexity and reduces chassis strength but I love the practicality of a hatch.
