Let me go in my garage and check real quick. I have a few forklifts laying around..
jk. Not much help, but here is what I found:

I'm guessing " there will be a hydraulic level dipstick under the valvechest on the rightside of the truck "

Have you tried http://www.seapyramid.net/rt/hyster-...ervice-manual/ or http://www.bailerbin.com/pubdoc/hyster-s50xm-manual/ ?
There are several sites that will sell a manual for that forklift, but if you are looking for just basic info, try calling your local dealer. If you have a leak, is it in a hose coupling, pump, or a rod seal? Hoses are not cheap but there should be seal kits available to repair a leaking cylinder. They usually contain a couple of o-rings so should be pretty cheap, but more labor intensive. With a manual in your hands you can DIY the fix, or at least remove the cylinder and take it to a good hydraulics shop for repair.
It's been a good while since I worked with hydraulics, but the reservoir is usually located near or slightly above the pump. Trace the suction line from the pump and it should end at the reservoir. Most hydraulic machines will fill at the reservoir because it is the only place in the system that should not be under pressure. The cap will probably be vented making it easier to find because when fluid is displaced into the cylinders that reservoir level will fall and have to be replaced with air.
