Amazing!
Just can't beat the GTR...incredible stuff.
Impressive finish for the R8 GT - 11.5 @ 125.1 MPH
I'm a little surprised that the SLS wasn't further ahead of the LFA with it's significant torque advantage - 11.7 @ 124.1 MPH
LFA took the 911 GT3 RS by a smidge - 11.9 @ 123.7MPG vs. 11.9 @ 120.7MPH

Though nice, cars are so much more than just a 1/4 run. The entire package comes into play as none of us are WOT 24/7. Most of the time, we cruise, enjoy the car as the package it is. The LF-A , 458, etc. amongst others really stand out in this regard.
Anybody can make a 1/4 car for under 10k that will wipe every car in that group, but this does not mean you want to drive the bucket everyday.

True, 1/4 mile times aren't everything but the 458 you mention came a very close second.
And the GTR is not just a drag machine. It handles extremely well especially for it's relative size and weight compared to some of the lightweight machines in this contest. The GTR was honed on many tracks including the Nurburgring.
In Fact all of the cars here including the Mustang Boss 302 are extremely capable track cars. The focus in this video was a drag race.

As trap speeds indicate, it was all about the launch. With AWD and that much power, the GTR will always have the advantage, driver skill being taken out of the equation. The GTR finishes with a lower trap speed than the next 4-5 cars. Starting with the Ferrari, the trap speeds decrease predictably with each successive car. Impressive, but the GTR would not be a contender if the race were a 1/2 or 1 mile race.
Does anyone really look at 1/4 mile times anymore? I personally think 0-100-0 times are the most important of we're talking about straight line performance. But still fun to watch!
