Default Is250 awd,g35x or 3 series xi

Hi,

Looking for some advice, bought a 2010 Subaru Legacy 2.5i sedan about 5 months ago, anyways I bought it because we needed a second car that could be used for winter, fuel efficient, and had warranty.

This would be my 4th car in 12 months,350z was not practical cause of the 2 seats and useless in the winter,fx45 was great but was filling up every 4 days was a pain financially and now the Subaru.

My commute is about 60 miles,5 days a week,i was filling up about every 10 days with the Subaru.

I am ready to change up as I am not satsified with the overall satisfaction of the car,I dont enjoy driving it,it really does nothing for me.

So here are my options..rather then keeping the Subaru and being unhappy..i am ready to move on.

I have narrowed my search down to

2007-08 G35X sedan with under 40k
2006-2008 is250 awd under 40k
2007-8 BMW 328XI COUPE
2007-8 BMW 335XI SEDAN

I have chose these cars because of the awd and price..I will have to add very little to get one of these

My Subarus 170 horses were useless..might as well drove a corolla to be honest.

Any feedback would be great

Thanks Manny

I'm partial to the BMWs [I own one]. The Infinitis aren't exactly fuel efficient, and the IS250 AWD is pretty slow. The 328xi is reasonably quick and gets decent mileage for an AWD. The 335's had the infamous high pressure fuel pump issues, but BMW seems to have resolved the issues now and the pumps are covered via an extended warranty.

Both my father in law and a friend have G35x and absolutely luv them. Their number one complaint: MPG. Based on your post this one may not make your short list.

So between the IS250awd and the 328IX ( I also scratched the 335IX because the 328IX is so good and, again based on your post, I don't see the need for a 335 nor the MPG hit) go drive them and let your gut decide for you. Look at them from the outside, sit in them, then drive them. You'll know which one is right for you at this time.

Good luck in your search and please keep us posted.

You can get up to 30+ mpg in the IS250 AWD. I once did a 6 hours trip with 4 people in summer and averaged a tad over 32 mpg in highway. It may be a little underpower but good enough for hiway cruiser.

Personally, I would go with the 328XI coupe. It is pretty stylish and the interior is nice. The 335XI sedan is also a good choice if you need more room. It just comes down to whether or not you need the extra space of a sedan.

As a G35xS Owner I can give you the pros and cons.

Pros:
-Great Looking Car- all my friends think its sexy as hell..
-Stout engine- Pretty quick.. I raced an older 2010 V8 Mustang a week or so ago. and beat him by a 1/2 car length...
-Good Handling- I would describe this car as being athletic. Perfect size/weight/handling combo.
-I have the S model and it has hot looking 18 inch wheels and adj sport seats...
-Great Nav System with voice control that actually works.
-Good Stereo

Cons
-The Paint BLOWS... its like butter and can be scratched by the wind...
-The Quality of materials is not Lexus level.. its 8/10 as good.
-MPG - I have been getting 20mpg City/Highway mix driving like an adult. I have gotten 25+ on flatter long distance cruzing. But in the city you will be at 17-20. U remember with your FX. I fill up once a week and get like 325miles per tank.
-Not as easy to mod/tune as the 335.
-small trunk due to nav/6disc changer.

I was thinking the other day how much fun it would be to have a 335...

But then I find stuff like this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxNAE...eature=related

I know they are covered by warranties these days but I hear funny stories about the BMW customer service. I have no patience for expensive things breaking. Paying 30+k for a car just to have it do this is inexcusable..

I love the way the Lexus looks inside, but its too small for me.

Infact I realize that my next car will be a bit bigger. Back to the size of my old GS.

Enjoy your search.. You cant go wrong with any of your choices they all have their pros and cons....

Default What about the new TL SH AWD?

If you did not mind the look of the toned down TL, I think you can get one for 40K or less . I've read that it is actually a very good driver car, and the gas consumption not worse than the G.

Hm... well if you're complaining about the 170 horses, The 200 something IS250 AWD won't please you much either. I hear the 328xi isn't all that great either in terms of power and fuel efficiency as my uncle drives a hatchback 328xi and he complains about both of those. Although I'm sure if you drive conservatively you can push out decent MPG.

If you're looking for fuel efficiency I'd say the IS250 AWD should be good enough for you.

He doesn't want to scare the neighbors, kids and himself everytime he has to walk and look at it.

How about an IS 350 AWD? A few used ones should be on the market.

Can't go wrong with any of those choices, IMO. Good luck!

Easy now , IMO the TL is as unique as the FX in the look department , plus itcan be had new for under 40K. IS350 AWD is another good choice.

with the is250awd, i had passengers complain about feeling nauseous. i noticed that it was a reoccurring problem after long trips( > 30minutes). maybe it was the tires or if it was the suspension of the 250awd.

My Sis in law has a new TL,the interior is great but I just think it looks awkward.

IS 350 AWD???? I have never heard or seen one...I thought only the !S250 came in AWD?

The only IS350's I have seen are RWD...maybe they never came to Canada?

If this is the case where a IS350 is in AWD that would definately be an option.

So did a Google search and looks like they just came out in 2011...price wise it would be out of the budget....want to be in the low 20's
