Picked up my new car for a drive through the Alps!
First of all I want to thank all of you on this board who really helped me get the most out of my GS460 experience. I still love that car, and am glad I have it for another 4-6 weeks till the BMW hits US shores.
I picked up the BMW 550i today at BMW Welt in Munich and drove it to the Alps and back. It was a fun day. The twin power turbo doesn't sound as silky as the Lexus V8 (that V8 sounded so refined it was almost electric), but it has a nice roar that I am also finding to be very nice, and the power is awesome!
Anyway here are some pics.

congrats man, gorgeous, just purely gorgeous!!!!!! i still remember my 550i test drive, it blew me away. i think the tt v8 is still very smooth and "quiet" for what it's pushing!!!!!
it's going to be a "painful" wait for you now

Congrats! You went all out on this one with the leather dash, ceramic controls, and everything!
I've always wondered, do they let you keep the temp tags/plates? Would be a nice souvenir from the trip and ED. Although I don't like front plates, I would definitely keep a front euro plate!

Congrats on the Bemer that is one stunning machine you got there . I couldn't tell did you get the knight vision camera . I know the 7 series have it as an option and some packages have it as standard. the car is incredible either way.

Very nice, congrats enjoy it I think the new 5-Series is the best looker in it's class at the moment not including the 2013 Lexus GS. I just love that interior color combo. It must be be awesome to experience a delivery like this.
