Great writeup, but I can't agree with needing to follow the Germans or anybody else for that matter into every new market niche. IMO, I really don't see Lexus needing MORE SUVs... and vehicles like the X6 are absurdly retarded. More vehicle types catering to specific markets, yes.. definitely. Maybe even sharing their own unique platform.

I think Lexus just need to expand each size class with a coupe. IS coupe (not just convertible), GS coupe, and LS flagship coupe. Look at Mercedes, there's C coupe, E coupe, and S coupe. Two doors do not sell well but are stylish and should be easy to design and manufacture.

I think IS and GS coupes/convertibles are a no brainer and almost HAVE to happen. I can see an LS coupe going either way since it's SO low volume. I would like to see them position the SC as an SL/XK competitor, and I'd also like to see a smaller one, something a la SLK and Z4, possibly based on the FRS?
