How scared should I be to buy a 1997 Towncar?

I decided to chance it and grab the Towncar today. Going to cross my fingers and hope it lasts. LOL
Let me try to answer most of the questions/comments here:
This is just a winter car, I still have the LS430 in the garage, so not concerned with anything other than my commute. I can take the 430 if I am going somewhere further, but I don't like driving it much in the winter.
I grew up with rear wheel drive and don't mind it at all. I actually prefer it most of the time.
My commute is 5 minutes on regularly plowed/salted roads and never above 35 mph, so not concerned with the handling characteristics, just want something cheap so that I can leave the LS at home.
I bike or walk in the summer sometimes, but we don't have sidewalks here, so not possible in the winter. Also, not so fond of walking or riding when I have a lot of stuff to carry.
I did note the comments about the air ride failing, and thank you. I looked into it and it seems that parts can be had fairly cheap to repair it or replace with springs, so hopefully it makes it, but I think it is fixable if it goes out.
As for getting a Civic or other small car, I'm going to give this thing a try before condemning myself to drives in a 15 year-old Civic DX that is beat to hell.

I'm a fan of snow tires, and have winter wheels with Blizzaks for the LS, but I think I'll give the all-seasons on the Towncar a go since they are in decent shape and the car will have very limited use.
