You guys really don't understand the performance potential of these diesel pickups if you think it can't go past 108 mph. The newest ones can easily top 500 hp on just tunes.
The only limitation to the I6 diesel is that they don't spin very high rpm's, so you would need a high OD to reach really high speeds. They govern out in the low 3,000's, and being an I6, it's dropped out of it's powerband by then anyhow.
The V8 diesels can run up to about 4,000 rpms and have a wide powerband, so I can definitely see performance potential there....
But let's see the Prius weigh as much as a full size pickup and try to maintain those speeds :P
Btw, I like high performance diesel engines, but I hate stacks, big lifts, and huge tires. I prefer a more stockish look on trucks. I like smoke, but I don't like to black out areas where there are people. I do it out in the middle of nowhere or if nobody's around, or if somebody is really being an ahole.
