We’re coming to the close of 2011, just about the time when all of the Japanese automobile manufacturers predicted to be back on track after the tragic earthquake that struck and crippled the nation earlier this year. However, some of the aftereffects are still being felt as Nissan has just reported that they’re delaying the redesign of the full-sized Titan pickup truck until 2013.
“We will come out a little later now,” said Andy Palmer, Nissan Motor Co.’s executive vice president for vehicle planning and program management during the Los Angeles auto show. “I made the decision.”
And it seems that the Titan has been experiencing issues for a while as Nissan had decided to outsource the Titan to Chrysler, who agreed to build the Titan in Mexico. But after Chrysler’s bankruptcy in 2009, Nissan had to improvise and bring the project in-house.
No other details have been announced for the next generation Titan.
