Out of Warranty
Maybe a bit overwrought with all of the woodgrain, but it is a huge step up from the Buicks of my past. It looks like Government Motors is finally getting the message on interiors. It's no GS, but it's getting a lot closer to the ES.

looks like the trim is fake wood
nothing but plastic laminate (printed)
just look at the button beside the shifter
and they totally tried to copy the wrap around wood trim effect from the jaguar XJ

The wrap around wood at the base of the windshield is actually too far away to be enjoyed. Kind of a waste.
While on the topic of dashes, I think those who go out of their way to hide the "utilities" are the makers who know a good thing. The mechanical or operating stuff like the air registers, *****, stalks, and other protrusions are what disrupts the eyes as it scans over the materials and shapes. VW was on to this with the Phaeton, which had hidden air vents. Since then, I believe Lexus has had the nicest dashes, with integrated air vents, less chrome outlining shapes, and an overall smooth plain or field to lay the instruments and buttons on. All easy on the eyes and makes the wood and aluminum more valued.

I remember them well. My Dad and all my uncles had cars like this back in the 70s. I feel more nostalgia than admiration for them though. As opulent as they seemed to be there was a lot of cheap tackiness inside. One thing that has changed a cross the board are the vivid colors that we don't see anymore. Back then you would get red, blue, green, rust, etc color schemes. Maybe it was for the better.
