Not sure if this exists outside of California, but I've noticed for years. Many Lexus dealers use a similar paper plate for their new cars. The background is always black, and the dealer name is written out is in dark gold. I know Cerritos, Westminster, Concord, Vista, Glendale, and several others all use this set-up.
So I guess I'm wondering, is there a kit or template Lexus Corporate provides to the dealers? Do they give them the choice of following this template? Who decided the black on gold to be the look (which I think is classy and works well)?
Just curious. It's something we've all seen for ages, but never really thought twice about.

Kind of. The CA ones have the dealer name in there too.

gold and black has kind of always been the corporate colors. That and black and white. My dealer (lexus of serramonte) uses white letters on black background. I also think it has to do with what stands out the most to be the best advertising
