Time magazine has given the American auto industry the honor of a cover story in the newest issue slated to hit newsstands on December 9. More specifically, the publication has taken a closer look at how Chrysler managed to go from Dead On Arrival to enjoying sales that are up 23 percent compared to the third quarter of 2010.
The company is expected to see sales of $55 billion in 2011. Talk about a turnaround. The piece focuses specifically on Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne, his role in pulling the automaker from the gutter, and just how crucial the company's government bailout was to retaining 40,000 jobs.
Time also takes a closer look at what its like to work with Marchionne by taking the time to speak with Laura Soave. Until recently, Soave was the head of Fiat in North America. Needless to say, the full text should make for an interesting read. You can read a quick blog post on the article at the Time website or wait for the hard copy to come out tomorrow.
