For the LC150, only the 3.0 V6 diesel is available and some markets may have a 2.7 liter petrol engine. Here in the Philippines, we have both the 3.0 V6 diesel and 4.0 liter gasoline being sold.
its 4cly, not V6 :-).

V8 is nothing special as LC200 is one heavy vehicle.

^The V8 will run 0-60 in something like 6.8 seconds...that's pretty blazing for an SUV like this, IMO.

not the diesel... feels significantly slower than 300hp UZ V8 in Euro market LC200.

Though, it would have to pass US EPA Tier 2 Bin 5/California SULEV-II in order to be sold in your country.

But yeah either way, if I had money, I'd go for it hehe :P

Toyota's strategy here in the US is all about Hybrid...and im sure they're going to make every attempt to make global by a certain period of time. I still think TMC should explore Diesel Hybrid now with their newly formed partnership with BMW.

diesel + hybrid, they can get some crazy numbers on both performance and gas mileage

toyota has fine diesels for hybrids on their own, but there is no point as they would be too expensive, complicated, noisy, etc, etc.

New diesel in Avensis is as economical as new Passat Bluemotion TDI (special extra frugal version), without using the start/stop system which would fake another 10% to the results... but put it in Prius and makes no sense. It would end up 300lbs heavier, $3k-$4k more expensive and not more economical... dirtier and do maybe 8s 0-60... also noisier, more vibrations and less reliable. Using new Camry's 2.5l petrol would make a lot more sense, probably be cheaper overall and not less economical... faster too.
