put Tundra 4.7l and 5.7l into a car - will it go over 120mph?
Hello i have a question.
The toyota tundra 4.7l and 5.7l go top speed 120mph.
So if you swap the 4.7l tundra engine into the SC400 is the SC400 new top speed 120mph?
Or will the sc400 with the 4.7l swap in it be able to go over speeds of 120mph? thank you.

hey i am talking about when u swap it into another vehicle like the sc400. the ecu limited max speed obvious has nothing to do with engine but with the ecu thanks and if u can please read post again and confirm if that answer make any sense to what i was asking please do so because maybe u actually mean that the engine is capable of more then 120 but the ecu for it is not or maybe yeah u did not read post correctly.

FOR EXAMPLE LEXTREME HAS 4.7L SWAPPED INTO HIS SC400. So i was wondering if his top speed is 120mph. Since he did do the swap.

A couple of suggestions / comments based on my understanding what you are asking.
1) Since Lextreme has done it, how about sending him a PM him and ask!
2) My guess is that if you bring the Tundra ECU along with the motor AND had the speed sensors hooked up correctly it would limit your speed. However, I'd also wager that you wouldn't do that for most any swap you were considering.
There isn't something about the engine design that stops it at 120mph. It's going to be either done via fuel cutoff / electronic limitation, or by the gearing and redline (and possibly aerodynamics) of the vehicle you put it in.

See if you can find a shop that can tweak the ECU. I took my G35 to a shop called Technosquare that removed the speed limiter ( as well as increase timing, change ignition maps, and increased the red line fuel cut off at 400 rpm higher than stock)

There are a few things that determine speed.
An electronically limited (governed) ECU where the engine will cut fuel after X MPH.
If the electronic limit is removed (using a standalone ECU most likely) the next issue is how fast the engine is allowed to spin and transmission gearing.

HKS makes something called a FCD or Fuel Cut Defenser; it might be necessary to fool the 2UZ-FE or UR truck motor ECUs into allowing them to go faster than 120mph. Not sure if it works with that model ECU, but I know that it was used a lot in old-school Toyota gear.

There was a guy with a frankenmotored SC in NorCal using a Tundra block and crank with 1UZ heads. I think one of the NorCal guys like RMMGS4 might know more about this.
But also, the 2UZ doesn't have a 6-bolt main like the 1UZ/3UZ, and the crank is different. And the 2UZ is tuned for low-end torque than high-end HP.
