Drag-off: Bugatti Veyron vs. tuned Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R has earned itself a hard-won reputation as a giant slayer. The relatively low-buck supercar can embarrass more expensive hardware right out of the box. Spend a little time and money throwing a few aftermarket parts toward the Nissan and you can easily have a vehicle capable of giving vehicles like the Bugatti Veyron a scare.

Take the videos after the jump, for example. The two clips show off a drag race between a mildly-tuned GT-R and a bone-stock Veyron. While the Bug gets an early lead on the more plebeian racer, the GT-R makes up the gap quickly.

That had to be one of the cleanest runs down the track. The Bugatti launch was very smooth. Funny nobody really cared about the GTR haha.

No one cares about a 90k car only one that costs 2 mill going down the track lol...

Great run.... That was pretty smooth.

Damn that Veyron made a track run look as easy as pulling out of a driveway

We all knew the Bugatti was going to win, but it only beat the GTR by 8/10ths and the GTR was a sleep at the start. The guy had geriatric reaction time. Both are amazing machines

love how you've got 15 people oohing and aahing with cameras fixated on the Veyron all with their backs turned on the GTR. Pretty much sums up even comparing these cars, one is an attention getter, the other is a bang for the buck workhorse.

Isn't that the whole point? The Veyron is a million dollar technological marvel with aviation grade engineering while the GTR is a much more down to earth sports car which runs with the more expensive machine almost stride for stride. At one million bucks a pop people better notice your car. But the GTR is magnificent in its own right.

Someone should test out their Veyron SS against that tuned Godzilla. Wonder how much of a difference it will make.

Only one thing wrong with the Nissan, hehe, and I used to be a 240Z guy.
Was that the original Veyron or the "S"?
