Hyundai To Build New $150M Headquarters In Fountain Valley (So Cal)
You so cal guys driving on the 405 by Fountain Valley are seeing it everyday like I am.
You can see the demolition is done and they're cleaning. I was wondering why there were no reports lately (or that I have noticed).
My neighbor works there so I'll see if she knows anything else

FOUNTAIN VALLEY (CBS) — Hyundai Motor America released a rendering of its proposed new $150 million headquarters building, planned for Fountain Valley.
The image depicting the proposed 419,000 square foot, six-story building attached to a 50,000 square foot technical facility was released Tuesday.
Hyundai says the building will be green certified, with floating glass floors, a public open-to-the-sky courtyard, and a vehicle showroom that the company says will be visible from the 405 freeway.
Construction is slated to begin this spring, and projected to generate more than 1,500 jobs over a 19 month period.
Hyundai’s U.S. operations base has been located in Fountain Valley for approximately 20 years. The tab for the company’s new headquarters is expected to run in the $150 million range.
“This new national headquarters represents Hyundai’s vision for the future and reflects the innovation and creativity that our brand has come to represent,” said Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik. “It also reflects our commitment to invest in and benefit the communities in which we operate around the world.”
Employees of the car maker will work from temporary office space in Costa Mesa while demolition and construction are underway.
The anticipated completion date for the revamped headquarters is fall of 2013.

Hyundai's idea of a "slower year" is a 10% increase in sales, as opposed to the 20-30% increase they have seen the last couple of years. Anyway, Hyundai does not have the capacity to build more cars. All of their factories are maxed out.
