Nice find. I've always been a fan of those last gen cressidas.
Ive never owned one, but ridden many times in a friend 92' similar to yours. 130,000mi
Pros:
-2jzge engine
-Rwd
-Many parts interchangeable with the supra and scx00
-Soft comfy ride
-Very handsome car
-Nice interior. Materials felt very sturdy and of quality. comfortable seats
Cons:
-You can feel the transmission shift. Especially 1-2 but not too bad (differs from car to car).
-The cars I came upon during my search had problems with blown head gasket.
-Seats aren't as supportive.
-I belieave it takes premium gas
Overall, a very good experience with the car. Basically a 4 door supra... For the family.

As far as my memory goes, the MX83 had the 7M-GE engine. Like the supra of the time, the head bolts weren't torqued sufficiently so many of these had an early demise as it blew the HG around 80K miles. Electronics good and it was a basic car. Our previous gen MX73 was excellent.
I would love to have the MX 73 back. It had pretty much everything our '97 LS400 has now. The suspension was far more durable but of course, the multi link in the LS is a nicer ride at a cost of bushing wear. The McPherson front and indy rear was nice and simple. Swapping over Supra parts made tuning easy.
Smallish inside and small trunk. Body was pretty stiff. Same sun roof rattle as the LS's have and a disappointment to hear this some 12 years later from our '85 to the '97 LS.
Pray that it has the blue or gray interior, the burgundy is sickening IMO. Why Nissan and Toyota had this combo with white IDK.
Of course you can drop in a 2JZ.

I have owned 3 Cressidas so far, one blue MX73 wagon and 2 MX83 sedans, one 1990 blue on blue interior and one 1988 white on red interior.
My 1988 was my favourite. It had 350,000kms on it when I bought it. White with red interior. I pulled out the 7M, converted it to 5 speed and put in a big single 2JZ. It made about 500whp on pump gas (94) and surprised the hell out of people when the wastegate opened up, I had it vented to atmosphere
The problem with the Cressidas is the headgasket on the 7M, the rust they developed on the rocker panels and rear wheel arches and the power seat belts sometimes quit. They are pretty much bulletproof if you can avoid those problems. I had the blue 1990 as a daily driver and it never let me down. Heck, the heated seats still worked until the day I sold it.
